"DUNFORD, Benjamin George and Julia
They both emigrated to Canada from England in 1886 [sic] and met at Russell, Man. where they were married in 1902. George and Julia moved to Wroxton, Sask. in 1911 where Mr. Dunford was a barber. George served in the First World War overseas with the 188th battalion. He hauled supplies to the front line with a team of mules. They left Wroxton in 1919 and moved to the [Goldbank district north of] Stenen where they farmed until retirement in 1958 when they moved to Sturgis. George and Julia had four children Emily (Lloyd Chase); after Lloyd died, she later married (Clary Jones), Garnet (Eva), Pat (Stan Feader), Harold (Verna). George died in 1966 and Julia in 1975."
