Lilian was placed at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. She was one of 160 children who came to Australia aboard ‘Ballarat’ in 1928. 115 went to Fairbridge WA, the remainder on to Sydney.

She died aged 95 in 2013. Her second husband (known as Warren) died in 2004 aged 84, also late of Moora.
