NotesBorn in Sheffield, put in orphanage with older brothers after his father left the family and mother was not able to care for all of them, he was the only one sent to Canada. Was "distributed" from receiving home in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Believe he worked for a Senator and was treated well. Worked on a farm in Ottawa, Ontario area until 18 then worked his way to Montreal. Met my grandmother, married and they moved back to England and were reunited with his brothers and mother. After he died his wife and both daughters and their families moved back to Canada and here we are still.
