On April 24 1941, Walter William Freeth, 23 years 10 months, born BIrmingham, enlisted in the Australian Army, he declared he was a labourer and single. His next of kin was his father Walter Freeth, Edgbaston, Birmingham. His usual residence was 30 Roseberry Ave, South Perth.

His next of kin had changed by June 13 1944 to S I Freeth, wife, 318 Charles St, South Perth, it was originally amended in March 1944 to Stella Isabel Freeth, 472 Bay St, Perth. By 8 Feb 1945 his wife had moved again to Dangin, Western Australia, he was discharged from the Army on 21 March 1946.
