NotesHenry was taken in to care when his mother left his father to move to Tarring to live with a Mr Dean, and his father went off with another woman, leaving him destitute.

In 1905, Henry French, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 163 Barnardo children (162 boys and 1 girl) and en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Henry French married Ellen Stevens.

**Correction to above story by family member:
Henry's Mother, Ellen Stevens, did leave his father, Henry Charles French, for another man leaving behind Henry and his sister, Elsie. Henry's father was not able to care for them and Henry was left with his Grandparents who were not able to care for him financially and therefore, applied to have him sent to Canada. Henry French married Ruth Elizabeth Bloor and had 5 children. They all resided in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Henry French died in 1974.
