Parents: William George Gaskin and Phoebe Grice, married 1909 at Aston, Warwickshire, England [shown in the GRO as Phoebe Ricghe].
In 1921, William George Gaskin, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 242 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He declared that his present occupation was as a home boy; that his intended occupation was farm work; that he was born in Warwickshire; that his passage was paid by Dr. Barnardo's Homes; that he was destined to his friend, Mr. John W. Hobday, 50-52 Peter Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and that his nearest relation was his mother, Mrs. Phoebe Gaskin, c/o Mrs. Bates, 1/156 Vicarage Road, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.
He was placed with the Scriven family.
On October 14, 1936, George Gaskin, 24, labourer, died at Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in which a car turned over off the road (injuries sustained were a fractured skull and internal chest injuries, resulting in myocardial and respiratory failure). His friend, Harry Scriven was the informant who stated that George was born in England to William Gaskin (his mother's name was unknown);and his birthdate was March 31, 1912.
William George Gaskin was buried in Milford Bay. He is buried next to Scriven family.
