Louisa the mother had remarried in 1885 (stating on the certificate that she was a widow) to Alfred Davis, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England. Gartland, 3; and Joseph Gartland, 1. Her date of birth is shown as August 9, 1873, and her immigration year as 1885. In 1911, Grace Gartland, 36, is shown residing at Brant Street, Deseronto, Hastings, Ontario, Canada, along with her husband Geo Gartland, 54, laborer, and children, Lunda Gartland, 13; and Grace Gartland, 1. Her date of birth is shown as August 1874 and no immigration year is shown. (1911 Census of Canada; Ontario; District: Hastings East; District Number: 79; Sub-District: Deseronto; Page: 7.)
