A death registration was found for Mary Gillespie, married to James Gillespie, Coal Miner: Date: April 22, 1894 12:00 pm; Place: 128 Eddlewood Rows, Parish of Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland; Parents: John Greenhorn and Elizabeth McBride; Cause: Pernicious Anaemia.

In 1905, Barbara Gillespie, 13 (along with sister, Jane Gillespie, 11), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of Quarrier children from the Orphan Homes of Scotland, and en route to Fairknowe, Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

On August 7, 1907, at King Street, Brockville, Leeds, Ontario, Canada, Barbara Gillespie, 15, born in Scotland, died of general tuberculosis, duration 7 months.

Barbara Gillespie is remembered at The Brockville Cemetery Est. 1861 aka The Old Protestant Cemetery, Highway 2, West of Brockville, Leeds, Ontario, Canada on a stone "erected by the Fairknowe Scotch boys and girls in loving memory of their departed companions."
