Notes Albert was born to Frederick Girvan, a printer, and his wife, Margaret (Maggie) Galtress of Liverpool.
In 1901, Albert is living with his brother, William, and his mother, Margaret at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Galtress, in West Derby, Lancashire.
In 1911, Albert was placed at the same farm where his brother, William had situated, as a domestic with Wallie Patch and family in Brome Township, Brome, Quebec.
Albert served in World War I, signing up in 1916. He stated he was not married.
Albert worked on several ships in the 40's. In June of 1947, Albert was serving as chief cook on the ship Cheticamp. He stated he was 5'11" and 188 pounds.
