NotesIn 1887, Eliza Goodwin, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 18 Maria Rye children en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, via Suspension Bridge.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. A. G. Smyth, Government Immigration Agent at London, Ontario.

Eliza Goodwin, aged 11 (she says 12). From Wolstanton and Burslem Union. Placed with Mrs. Edwin M. Sage, Lot 4, Con. 5, E. Oxford, Vandecar P.O., Ontario.?Taken to bring up by Mrs. Sage, who is well pleased with her; can read and write well; goes to church and Sunday school in summer; strong and healthy; a good home."
