In 1910, Christine Groombridge, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 78 Barnardo children en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

GIRL ARRESTED
Brought From Hamilton on a Charge of Theft in Toronto
On a charge of stealing $8 in cash, three gold rings, a bracelet, Christina Groombridge, a Home girl, was brought from Hamilton, where she was arrested at the request of the county police, by County constable George Simpson.
The girl formerly worked in the home of Mrs. William Wood. Vaughn road, Wychwood, and went to Hamilton last week, where she secured a position. The Hamilton woman wrote to Mrs. Wood, who turned the letter over to the police. They wired the Hamilton authorities to hold the girl. She was remanded to the Shelter and will come up Monday before Magistrate Ward.
