Alfred was placed with Chauncey and Naomi Dawdy, Pelham, Ontario, Canada. Chauncey died in 1925 (arterio sclerosis) and at the time is listed as a grain farmer. His father's name on the death register is James Dawdy. Chauncey is buried in the Dawdy Cemetery.

Alfred Gull married Margaret Sorley Bain (born March 14, 1913 to John Bain and Agnes Bole) in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, about 1937.

At least three children were born of this marriage, including: John Alfred Gull, born July 4, 1937, in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, died September 24, 2000, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; and Alice Margaret Gull, born July 2, 1944, in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, died May 22,2008, in Winchester, Ontario, Canada.

Alfred Gull died on January 14, 1975, at Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

Margaret Sorley Bain Gull died on December 31, 1911, at Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

They are buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.
