Notes Harry and his brother Charles were placed in the care of Barnardos in July of 1889, as their father Henry Hambley sr, had died in April of that year, and their mother Selina (nee Riva) was unable to support them, and the parish charity was insufficient. There was another brother Frederick Anthony, 2 years old, who remained with his mother. Both Charles and Harry were small for their age, and suffering from malnutrition. They were sent to the Teignmore Home in the Channel Islands, the Barnardo Home for boys in delicate health. They remained there for 6 years, and although cut off from their mother and younger brother, regained their health, were returned to London, and sent to Canada in April of 1895.
I have been unable to connect Harry to his brother Charles because this system says there is no record of Charles, even tho I put it there myself, and can see it in the list.
