NotesElizabeth Hamill was my aunt. She came to Canada on the Montclare from Glasgow, arriving in Quebec. Her destination on the emmigration records found on ancestry.ca was the YWCA in London Ontario. I assume that she was headed there because her brother Charles Hamill, who had arrived two years earlier had moved to London (where he lived for the rest of his life)

I do not know if Elizabeth ever arrived. Nothing was ever heard of her again.

Elizabeth's parents were Charles Hamill (25 Dec 1885, Larne Ireland) and Mary Ann Mcdermott (born about 1883 died 18 Dec 1916 at 73 College St. Dumbarton Scotland)

I assume that Elizabeth age 6 and her brother Charles age 8 must have been in the care of relatives as their father Charles Hamill (my grandfather) was at sea during WW1 at the time of their mother's death.

The immigration records found on the Libray and Archives Canada government website indicate that Elizabeth was travelling with 2 other young girls each with different destinations (not specified). I am making the assumption that my aunt was part of the Home Children as that is where I found her immigration details.
