Notes Charles Hanlon arrived in Australia in a group of 53 Barnardo children from Stepney Causeway, London, accompanied by Matron Hodgetts and Mr John Gregg. One boy was put ashore at Colombo with a septic leg and another (William RALPH) stayed in Western Australia; 51 went on to Sydney.
The boys were aged from nine to 17 years. The older lads were to be sent on to farms, and the younger ones to school at Mowbray Park, Picton. (Source: NLA Trove newspapers)

The above Charles Redmond Hanlon married Mary Alice in 1946 (later divorced) and died in 1960 aged 45, in Penshurst NSW, late of Surry Hills, mother Maureen, father not stated.
