NotesIn 1883, Alice Hart arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 115 Middlemore children en route to various destinations. [EDITORS NOTE: The sailing information was obtained from the Middlemore Index (**) but this writer was unable to find reference to it on either the LAC or ships manifest.]

Alice Hart, aged 11, now 16, from Guildford Union, placed with Mrs. George Moncriff, Petrolia, Ontario. This girl has a most excellent home, and is quite healthy, happy, and contented. Mrs. M. is well pleased with her. She goes to church and Sunday school; she can read, write, and spell well (Mrs. Moncriff teaches her). Came out in 1883; a fine stout girl, cannot be more than 14 or 15 years of age.
