April 27 1900

with John Edward Quinn, farmer, P.O Ste Barbe, Huntingdon, Quebec

About 14 years of age, satisfactory home, employed at house work and light farm chores, health-is subject to a rash which has the appearance of saltrheum. Mr Quinn does not consider it contagious. I instructed Mr Quinn to take him to a physician for treatment. Attends Roman Catholic Church, not school, character good-but is naturally dull and stupid, and shows no inclination to learn. Terms-Board and Clothes. Mrs Quinn is very fond of him. They say that he is improving altho' not fully satisfactory, they find him very useful. Mr Quinn writes under date of 1st December that this lad is now in good health, and that the rash referred to has now disappeared.

with Oliver Genier, St Anicet, Huntingdon, Quebec

December 16 1902

Age 16, robust health, attends Roman Catholic Church, terms-Board and Clothing. This youth has improved since I last saw him
and appears to be brighter intellectually. He says that the Society has no claim on him, and that he is able to look after himself. He is in the employ of a well known farmer. I doubt if the boy will ever do much for himself-a fair type only. The parish priest, I understand takes a personal interest in this youth.
