James Hearne was also known as James Hurn and James Torrington Monks.

James never married. He died on May 8, 1958, at the Wales Home, Richmond, Quebec, Canada. He is buried in Kirkdale Cemetery, Kirkdale Quebec, Canada, in Lot #3.
