On September 22 1916, George Heppel born 8 Feb 1896 South Shields, enlisted in Canadian Army, he gave his next of kin as
Eleanor Moore French, 29 Eastbourne Grove, South Shields, he was a rubber worker.
On 18 May 1918 he married Jean Georgina Baird in Wimbledon, Surrey. Jean Georgina was referred to as Georgina. Records show that George and Georgina returned to Canada in Nov 1920.
George died 26 Feb 1926 (home address Dovercourt Road, Toronto). He was buried in the Prospect Cemetery in Toronto. It seems that he was buried in the veterans' sector - it looks as if his death could have been linked to events during the War.
