In 1921, Hilda K. Hollamby, 16, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 134 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was declared that she was 17; that her birthplace was Barming; that her present occupation was as a domestic; that her intended occupation was as a domestic worker; that her object in going to Canada was for domestic work; that she was destined to Mr. Hobday, Hazel Brae, Peterboro, Ontario, Canada; and that her nearest relative in England was her mother, Mrs. Hollamby, who resided at Brown Cottages, Victoria Road, Southborough, England.
A juvenile inspector reported [T-15423]:
HOLLAMBY, Hilda, 16, 1921 Barnardo's 1923 to Campbellford "A very intelligent, industrious, young lady. Giving good satisfaction".
On October 30, 1925, Hilda Hollamby, 18, domestic, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Minnedosa. She declared that her address in the United Kingdom was Dr. Barnardo's Home, Stepney, London, England; and that she intended to remain in England permanently.
In 1931, Hilda K. Hollamby married John Herbert Levey in Tonbridge, Kent, England.
Hilda Kathleen Levey died in 1988, at the age of 81, in Tonbridge Wells, Kent, England.
