He was described as 5 foot 3-1/2 inches in height; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith. He had distinguishing marks consisting of: 4 vaccination marks left arm and a vaccination mark on his left left, inner surface; end of first digit-right hand off, but good working finger left.
