On July 26, 1899, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Ann Huyton, 24, born in England to Thomas Huyton and Isabella Pritchard; and Joseph Ellis, 39, laborer, born in England to John Ellis and Ann Hutchinson.

Joseph and Annie Huyton Ellis had at least 3 children: John Robert Ellis, born August 12, 1900, died August 20, 1901, of convulsions; and May Isabelle Ellis, born 1911; and Doris Ellis.
