In 1891, Emily Ibbetson, 7 (along with sister Mary Ibbetson, 11) arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 50 Maria Rye children accompanied by Mrs. Soffe, matron, and en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

On December 6, 1906, at London, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Amelia Emily Hibbertson, 22, born at the Isle of Wight, England to George Hibbertson and Laura Hinton; and Arthur Sanham, 35, shipper, born in England to George Sanham and Sarah Hill.

Arthur Sanham and Amelia Ibbetson Sanham had at least one child: Elsie Amelia Sanham, born July 30, 1908.

On November 2, 1914, Mrs. Amelia Sanham is shown residing at 24 Napier Street, London, Ontario, Canada, as the next of kin for her husband, Arthur Sanham, in his Attestation of enlistment in the Canadian Armed Forces. (Due to Rheumatic Fever and a heart disorder brought on by the cold and damp climate in England at the time, he was discharged as unfit for War Service only 2 months after arriving in England.)

On January 2, 1934, Arthur Sanham, 67, died at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario, Canada, of acute myocardial failure. He was buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Amelia Sanham, 482 Central Avenue, London, Ontario, Canada, was the informant for the death certificate.
