NotesIn 1901, Fred G. Jefferies, 8 years of age, was residing at 3 Burchells Green Road, Bristol, Glouscestershire, England. Other family members included: Ellen Jefferies, 44; Herman H. Jefferies, 16, iron f. moulder; Lucine M. Jefferies, 3; Sellers Jefferies, 10; William H. Jefferies, 43, shoe and boot maker; and Winefred H. Jefferies, 14

In 1913, Frederick Jeffries, 19, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 20 young persons en route to various destinations. (Family legend has it he left home after a family dispute.)

On September 23, 1914, Frederick Jefferies enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Bristol, England; that his next of kin was his mother, Mrs. Emma Jefferies, who resided at 21 Lancaster Street, Bartonhill, Bristol, England; that his date of birth was June 27th, 1895; that he was a machinist; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 6-1/2 inches in height; dark complexion; brown eyes; and dark hair. He was a member of the Church of England. He had a distinguishing mark of a scar above his left shoulder.

On September 23, 1919, Frederick Jeffreys entered the United States as a passenger of the SS Megantic which sailed from Liverpool. He declared that he was 23 years old; that he was from the War Office in London, England; that he was en route to New York, New York; that he resided previously in the United States for 9 months to 1915; that he was going to 283 Sterling Place, Brooklyn, New York; and that he was born in London, England.

In 1920, Fred Jeffries, clerk in machining comp., was found as a boarder in a boarding house run by Elizabeth and Clara Lester at 283 Sterling Place, Brooklyn, New York. His immigration year to the US is shown as 1915 and he was still an alien at this time.

Fred Jefferies visited England about 1928 and did not return.
