In 1887, Henry Jolly, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 115 Middlemore children en route to Guthrie Home, London, Ontario, Canada.
On November 8, 1905, at Victoria, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was recorded between Emily Abbott, 22, born Yorkshire, England, to David Abbott and Mary Catermote; and another home child, Henry James Jolly, 27, stablehand, born in Rumsfeld, England, to Robert and Ann Jolly.

On August 30, 1962, at the Misericordia Hospital, Mr. Henry James Jolly, aged 89 years, beloved husband of Emily Jane Jolly, 605 Sherburn St. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 1:00 p.m. in Pine View Funeral Chapel, Waverley and Chevrier Blvd., with Rev. Dr. F. Douglas officiating, followed by interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Jolly was born in England, and came to Canada in 1885. He had resided in Winnipeg since 1919. He was employed with Burns and Co. for 30 years, until his retirement in 1946. Besides his wife, Mr. Jolly is survived by three sons, Fred, Winnipeg, Henry and Albert, both of Vancouver; three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Emily) Corrigan, Winnipege, Mrs. Arthur (Kay) Keir, Charleswood, Mrs. Roger (Ada) Fontaine, Edmonton; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
