In 1910, Catherine Judge, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 25 Catholic children en route to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

In 1911, Kate Judge, 14, is shown as a domestic for Louis Honore Pepin and family in Warwick, Drummond & Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as August 1896 and her immigration year as 1910.

In December 1917, Catherine Judge, 20, crossed into the United States through Seattle, Washington. She stated she was a domestic by trade; she was single; that she was currently residing in Govan, Saskatchewan, Canada; that her contact in Canada was Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Leslie of Govan, Saskatchewan, Canada; that her final destination was Butte, Montana; that her fiance had paid her fare; that she had $20 with her; that she was going to meet her fiance, James McDonald, who resided at 206 West Granite Street, Butte, Montana; that she intended to remain permanently; and that she had been born in St. Helene, England. She was described as being 5 foot 4 inches in height; fresh complexion; light brown hair; and green eyes. She had two little marks on her left cheek.

A descendant notes:

"John and his wife Mary were living in Liverpool when their daughter Catherine was born. It was thought that John served in World War I, leaving his young daughter with nuns as his wife had died a few years previously. The story becomes a bit hazy at this point and we pick up the thread of Catherine Judge's life in Canada when she meets James MacDonald (born August 28, 1885 in Kirkwall, Orkney Island, Scotland). He was a coal miner working in Butte, Montana, USA, (they were married on December 24, 1917). They had two daughters, Kathleen and Barbara. James and Catherine left Montana and moved to a farm near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada in the early 1920s.

Catherine always wondered what happened to her father; did he survive the war. Unfortunately, she began her search a few years too late. Her father had survived the war and probably, like her, wondered what happened to his family. By the time Catherine found him, he had already passed away (John Judge had died around 1930)."

James MacDonald died in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on February 10, 1953; and Catherine Winnifred Judge MacDonald died August 28, 1984, in Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada.
