Charles John Nichols Kiss remarried Elizabeth James in 1873 in Lambeth, Surrey, England.

In 1887, Samuel Kiss, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 73 children from the Canadian Catholic Emigration Committee, Archbishops House, Westminster, London, England, accompanied by Rev. Thomas Seddon and en route to Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. W. J. Wills, Government Immigration Agent at Ottawa.

Samuel Kiss, aged 16. From parish of St. Mary, Lambeth. Placed with Timothy Tierney, Lot 15, Con. 1, Jockval P.O., Co. Carleton, Ontario.?A very excellent boy, is to attend school this winter; is remarkably well placed."

Samuel Kiss emigrated to the United States about 1904.

Samuel George Kiss married Sarah McFadyen about 1906 in Alpena, Alpean, Michigan, USA. The couple had at least 2 children: Theodore Kiss, born February 1, 1907, and died March 6, 1997, in Rodeo, Hidalgo, New Mexico; and Violet Flora Kiss, born July 11, 1909, and died of bronchitis on April 1, 1911 at Alpena, Alpena, Michigan.

On September 12, 1918, at Alpena, Michigan, USA, Samuel George Kiss, 45, registered for the United States Draft. He declared that he resided at 421 Chisholm, Alpena, Alpena, Michigan; that his birthdate was November 22, 1872; that he was a naturalized citizen of the United States; that he was a laborer for the City of Alpena; that his next of kin was his brother, Arthur E. Kiss, who resided at Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA. He was described as short; slender; blue eyes; light hair.

[EDITORS NOTE: Clarification is required as to the marital situation for Samuel and Sarah. Samuel declares that he was a widower in 1920, and his son, Theodore Kiss, 12, is shown living as the adopted son of Alfred and Kate Grueber in Frankenmuth, Michigan. In 1930, no trace can be found of Samuel Kiss, and Theodore Kiss, 23, is shown residing with his maternal uncle, Wilder V. McFadyen in San Francisco, California. However, numerous family trees indicate that his mother, Sarah McFadyen, actually did not die until 1965 in Los Angeles, California.]
