On February 27, 1907, at Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between William Thomas Lace, 18, fireman, born on the Isle of Man to William Thomas and Margaret Elizabeth Lace; and Catharine Louisa Manion, 18, born at Bathurst, Ontario, Canada, to William Manion and Margaret Doyle.

At least 4 children were born to this couple: William Ray Lace, born October 9, 1903, in Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada, and died before 1910 in Kintry, Saskatchewan, Canada; Viva Gertrude Lace, born June 2, 1902, in Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada; Mildred Margaret Lace, born about 1907; and Mabel Theresa Lace, born about 1909.

In June, 1910, William Thomas Lace, 27, farm labourer, crossed into the United States through the port of St. Albans, Vermont. His party included his wife, Catherine Louisa, 24, and his 3 daughters: Viba Gertrude, 8, Mildred Margaret, 3, and Mable Theresa, 2. He declared that his residence was in Kintry, Saskatchean, Canada; that his nearest relative was his sister, Mrs. Alex McGregor, who resided in Newberg, Ontario, Canada; that his final destination was Minneapolis, Minnesota; that he carried $300 on his person; that he was going to see a friend, Mr. D. E. French, 503 Palace Building, Minneapolis, Minnesota. William was described as 5 foot 4 inches in height; medium complexion; brown hair; brown eyes. He had been born in the Isle of Man.

William Thomas Lace died in 1944. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Ashland, Wisconsin, USA.
