NotesHis parents were Tom Salisbury (1868-1962) and Emily Latham (1871-1918). She was unable to care for their three children alone. George (age 7) was sent to Middlemore Homes by the Birmingham Citizens Committee on Sept. 23, 1914. His two sisters were taken in by relatives.

In 1915, Henry G. Latham arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with 7 Middlemore children.

George Latham was taken to Cape Breton to work on a farm. His guardian later adopted him and he became Gordon MacDonald. He married Mabel Hanebury on July 7, 1935 at Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Harry George Salisbury Latham died at the age of 73 on July 22, 1981, at Holden Hospital, Holden, Massachusetts, USA. Mabel Hanebury Latham died on April 18, 1985 at the age of 75. She is buried at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, Massachusetts, USA.
