NotesRecords from the Liverpool Workhouse indicate he was self admitted to the workhouse on April 6 1881. He was recorded as 6 years of age. He was discharged to Kirkdale Industrial School on May 12, 1882. Records from the Industrial school at Kirkdale indicate Edward Linsey was admitted on Dec 5 1882, age 6, Father & Mother dead. He was admitted from the workhouse. He was discharged on August 8,1884. Remarks indicate to be sent to Canada.

In 1884, Edward Lindsay, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 104 children from the Catholic Children's Protective Society, accompanied by Mrs. Lacy and en route to Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Edward Lindsay, aged 10, from parish of Liverpool, placed with John T. Tracey, Stoco P.O., lot 22, 5 Con., Hungerford Tp. Gave full satisfaction for one year to October 1885; transferred to Patrick Marer, Read P.O., Tyandenaga, a good home, well cared for."

His granddaughter, Jackie, related that Edward Lindsay ran away from his placement when he was about 15 and went to Michigan, USA.

Hnever spoke of his early years except to say he didn't remember his parents or where he was born, but he had been told he had been born in London.

Edward H. Lindsay married Lena M. Hill(i)er, daughter of Oliver A. Hiller and Emily Dayton, on May 1, 1898, in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA. The couple had at least 3 children: Raymond L. Lindsay, born June 7, 1901, in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA, died November 6, 1966, in Davison, Michigan, USA; Viola Beatrice Lindsay, born June 25, 1903, in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA, died December 27, 1956, in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA; and Byron Lindsay, born about 1910 in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA.

Edward H Lindsay died on December 21, 1943, at the age of 67, in Davison, Michigan, USA. Lena Hillier Lindsay died on December 16, 1932, at the age of 51, in Flint, Genessee, Michigan, USA. He is buried in Davison Cemetery, Plot: Section 3, Davison, Michigan, USA.
