His Next of Kin was his friend, Mrs. Esty of Eastman Junction. 5' 7 1/4" in height with brown eyes and fair hair, he had 2 vaccination marks on his left arm and a scar on his forehead. His religion was listed as Church of England.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that George died of wounds sustained in an air raid on Number 4 Company's lines. He was evacuated to Number 1 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station where he died. His Next of Kin was listed as being redirected to the Unit Director of Administration of 'G' Unit, B. S. C. R. Pension Section 202 Notre Dame Investment Bldg. Winnipeg, Manitoba. An address for his brother was received in 1926 for Mr. Edward Bell of 373 William Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was buried in
Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Aubigny-en-Artois, Nord Pas de Calais, France. Plot 2, Row F, Grave 7.
