NotesShe came to Canada and was at St George's Home in Ottawa. She worked for a time in a Dr's home here in Ottawa as cook. She was a very skilled cook and was known for her candies, jams and cakes and wonderful meals. She married Joseph Whittaker in 1918, also a home child. She tried to contact her family back home but never heard anything her whole life. I wonder if the letters were ever sent by the people she was with at the orphanage or who she was indentured to. Anyway, I know very litte about her family. I found them on the 1901 UK Census, but that's all I know. I am trying to locate her family. I don't know if any of the other siblings came over or if she was the only one.
