NotesA birth registration was found for Arthur Henry Lunn: Year of Registration: 1891; Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun; District: St Saviour Southwark; County: London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 76. Parents: James Lunn and Louisa Thompson, married 1882 in St. Saviour, London, England.

On August 2, 1899, Arthur Henry Lunn was admitted to Lambeth Workhouse. He was discharged August 3, 1899 to Lambeth Union School.

Both of his parents, James and Louisa Lunn, were dead. James Lunn died October 17, 1898 in Lambeth, London, England of tuberculosis. Louisa Thompson Lunn died November 28, 1898, in Lambeth, London, England.

His Aunt Alice resided at 39 Tanswell Street. She had kept the boy from June 23 to August 2, 1899.

Arthur was discharged to Barnardo's Home on June 12, 1901.

In 1901, Arthur Lunn, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a large group of Barnardo children: 239 to Toronto, Ontario; 68 to Winnipeg, Manitoba; 20 to Russell, Manitoba; and 3 to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

[POSSIBLE MATCH] On February 14, 1917, at Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur (James) Henry Lunn, 22, fireman, born in London, England to John Lunn and Annie Blackman; and Grace Isabella Chaffey, 21, born in Chaffey, Ontario, to William Chaffey and Sarah Paget.

[POSSIBLE MATCH] Arthur Henry Lunn died January 10, 1936 aged 43 in Novar, Muskoka. He was a labourer and had been in Canada for 37 years. His parents names were unknown. Next of kin was given as his son Aubry Lunn, Novar, Muskoka, He was buried in Church of England Cemetery, Novar,


Grace Isabel(la) Chaffey died at the age of 61 in 1957.
