On September 26, 1915, William Cecil Mackman enlisted in the British Armed Forces (Service No.: 4993; 4/1st London Regt.). He was a ticket collector, living in St. Pancras, London, England. He was 5 foot 6 inches in height; fair physical development. His next of kin was Mrs. Emily Mackman, who resided at 17 Stubbington(?) Drive, Kings Cross, England. He stated he was nearly 20 years of age.
William Cecil Mackman was discharged on November 12, 1915, under Kings. Reg. para. 392(vi) having made a misstatement as to age on his enlistment.
In 1916, William Mackman, 16, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 4 young persons en route to various destinations. (He is shown as W. C. Mackman on the outbound manifest.)
William Cecil Mackman may have returned to London, as a marriage was shown registered between William C.
