NotesOn 8 April 1920, Elsie Maidman, 20 married John Thomas Graves in Leamington, Essex, Ont, she declared her parents to be James Maidman and Elizabeth Kettle, and that she was born in England.

By 1930 divorced and had one known child, Frederick Graves. In 1940, per census, remarried to Arthur Varley and living in Detroit, Michigan with Arthur's son Wilfred (from a previous marriage). She and Arthur moved to Highland, Michigan. She remained in southern Michigan with Arthur the rest of her life. Grandma Varley was very much loved. Her stepson Wilfred and his entire family regarded her as his mother, not a stepmother.
