John Mallard was discharged to Barnardo's Home on August 1, 1900.

In 1900, John Mallard, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 101 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

John was placed at the home of J. Edmunds, of Lanark, Ontario, Canada.

Sent by Lambeth Union, placed with J E Edmonds, Smiths Falls, Lanark, Ontario

March 25 1902

Age 14, helps with delivery of milk, good health, attends Methodist Church, good character. Mr Edmonds was not at home but the boys personal appearance satisfies me that he is well cared for. He does not appear to be altogether contented, and complains of his hours of rising and retiring.
