In 1886, Esther McGovern, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 71 children from the Liverpool Catholic Children's Protection Society, accompanied by a Mrs. Lacy and en route to Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

On December 27, 1933, at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Esther Therese Masterson, 51, born in Liverpool, England, died of cerebral haemorrhage (apoplexy) and chronic nephritis. She is buried at St. Peters Cemetery, 173 Hunter Street, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
