In 1905, D(avid) McKeen, 10 (along with his brother A(lexander) McKeen, 11) arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of 433 children, males to Toronto and Winnipeg and the females to Peterborough. There were nine adults on the end of the list who were traveling with the group. Frederick Franks, a boy aged 7, was listed as going to Peterborough.
On May 14, 1918, David McKeen, 22, was drafted into the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided in Beulah, Manitoba, Canada; that his military service act number was 508198 C; that his date of birth was June 14, 1895; that he was born in Middlesbrough, England; that he was single; that he was a member of the Church of England; that he was a farm labourer; that his next of kin was his sister-in-law, Mrs. Jack Horner who resided at 65 Terrence Street, Middlesborough, England. He was described at 5 foot 4-1/2 inches in height; ruddy complexion; dark hair; brown eyes. He had distinguishing marks of scars on his left and right shins; and a scar on his right seat.
David McKe(a)n died about 1956 in Manitoba, Canada.
