This obit came from the Lois Stanford British Home Child Collection.............................................................................................Elizabeth Alberry,90......Elizabeth Alberry,90,died at St.Vincent de Paul Hospital on Sunday evening,February 9 after being a patient since Wednesday,but in indifferent health since November.Mrs. Alberry had lived at 11 Hastings Drive for the last 15 years and had been active until late last fall.The former Elizabeth Mori,she was born June 19,1895 in Greenock,Scotland,daughter of the late Anthony Mori and the former Charlotte Gillies.She was raised in Scotland,receiving her early education there,coming to Canada in 1907 at the age of 12 years.She settled at Shanly,living with Mr. and Mrs.Calvin Anderson,attending public school in Shanly.She did domestic work for Mr.and Mrs.Anderson until being married to William H.Alberry in Ogdensburg,NY.,in 1913 at age 18.Her husband was a cheese maker,working and making cheese in Mallorytown,Garretton and Cardinal. Mr.Alberry predeceased her on December 11,1944,after which she moved to Brockville and worked for 14 years at the Grand Central Hotel on King Street West(now the site of Mr.Grocer supermarket).Mrs.Alberry was a member of the Seniors Club at the Hastings Drive apartments,but her main interests were in her home,family and grandchildren.Surviving are one son and three daughters,Eric Alberry of Cardinal,Mrs.James Forsyth (Beryl) of Garretton,Mrs.Phyllis Bell of North Bay,Mrs.Robert Hennigar ( Lois) of Brockville,13 grandchildren,13 great-gandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren: also a sister Mrs.Ethel Shoemaker of Prescott and a brother,Alex Mori of Windsor.She was predeceased by a son,Wallace Alberry in 1962 at Prescott:by two sisters,Mrs.Alex Patton (Martha) of Scotland and Miss Ina Mori of Windsor and by two brothers,Joseph Mori of Scotland and Tony Mori of Windsor. Friends will be received at the Johnston-Barclay Funeral Home,68 King Street East from Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon,February 11,when funeral services will be held in the chapel at two o'clock,Rev.David Robson of the Kitley-North Augusta Anglican parish officiating.Interment will be made in Maynard Cemetery in the spring.Memorials to any charity of choice will be greatly acknowledged.
