with William Hoolahan, farmer, P.O Jockvale, Carleton, Ontario

Age 13, satisfactory home, employed at chores about the farm and house, health-he is troubled with sore feet, little hard red lumps appearing on them. The boy says that his feet troubled him in the same way last winter, and that he was obliged to return to the home in consequence. I instructed Mr Hoolahan to provide the lad with heavy boots and rubbers, attends church occasionally. He does not want to go to school. Character-he is obedient and truthful but not a very bright looking boy. Terms-Board and Clothes. The lad gives his employer satisfaction, and he is satisfied with the place.

with Joseph Lynch, farmer, P.O Manotick, Carleton, Ontario

November 15 1900

Age about 15, home fair only, employed at light work, health generally good, attends Roman Catholic Church, not school, character good, no terms, this boy was for over a year in the employ of a Mr Hoolahan, farmer, Jockvale. Mr Hoolahan states that
finding Nash unsuitable he gave him sufficient money to convey him back to Orpington Lodge, Ottawa, after having notified Miss Proctor, the Societys Agent. Mr Hoolahan, however, states that he does not know if he ever reached there. He heard he was at Martin Howe's about two weeks ago. I ascertained that Nash had been at Howe's, but had left, and was at Joseph Lynch's. i called at Lynch's and found him there.

Reported to Society's Agent 26 November 1900

November 7 1902

Age 17, this boy has left the situation in which he was placed by the Societys Agent and has been hiring out amongst the farmers in the township of Low. He does not remain for any length of time in one place. He is a youth of good character, but is said to be rather shiftless. I was unable to find him.
