Notes Parents: Henry Nevin and Mary Brownlie Anderson, married December 25, 1893, at St Mary's Church, Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancashire, England (Mary is shown as Mary Brownall on the Marriage Registration).
He attended Major Lester Public Elementary School, Everton where he excelled. This led to his selection to join a youth migration scheme. In 1910, he was presented with a school award for good attendance and good conduct. William kept the medallion all his life as a memento of his roots as receiving it led to his selection for the scheme.
On 9 November 1911 William, aged fourteen, travelled to Wellington in New Zealand on board 'Arawa'. His occupation was listed on the passenger list as ?farm boy?.
William later married and enjoyed a successful life in New Zealand. Although he never returned to Liverpool, he always remembered his family.
