Attestation papers were signed 8 Sep 1915 in Toronto, Ontario. Charles Frederick Norman was born 6 Jun 1895 in Redhill, Surrey, England. He was a Farm Labourer by trade. Next of Kin was his Father, George Norman on Redhill, Surrey, England. 5' 6 3/4" in height with light brown eyes and brown hair. His religion was listed as Presbyterian.

17 Apr 1916 Marriage record in York County, Ontario states that Charles Frederick Norman married Lottie Kerridge. Charles lists his father as George Norman and his mother as unknown. He was born in Red Hill, Surrey, England and was a Soldier with the 81st Battalion at the time of his marriage. There were 'Kerridge' children aboard the Dominion on Charles' initial 1905 voyage, however none could be linked to Lottie.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that he was Killed in Action in an attack west of Passchendaele, West Flanders, Belgium. His Next of Kin was George Norman of 12 Kinds Avenue, St Johns, Redhill, Surrey, England. His body was not recovered for burial. His name is listed on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres, West Flanders, Belgium.
