NotesIn 1884, Mary Ryland, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 65 children from the Catholic Protective Society.

"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. John Smith, Government Immigration Agent at Hamilton, Ontario.

Mary Beyland, aged 12, from parish of Liverpool, placed with Father Laussier, Walkerton, Ontario. This girl was placed with Mrs. Simpson Chesley, Bruce Co., and left for Hamilton about a year ago; was placed with Mrs. Leyden, 20, Barton Street; character honest, fairly truthful, and obedient, attends church and Sunday school, her name is Nyland not Reylaud."

On February 13, 1889, at Dundas, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Mary Nyland, 21, born in England to John and Mary Nyland; and Louis La Fallee, 24, barber, born in Canada to Domnic and Martha La Fallee.
