Notes Records for Robert Alfred Odiam were difficult to find. With some digging his father was discovered in the St Pancras Union Workhouse in 1911. He is listed as responsible for 2 boys--Robert and Edward. Robert was sent to the St. Pancras Industrial School and from there to Canada. His Canadian Department of Immigration Records indicate he had his last visit by an Inspector in 1922. He only had 2 placements between his 1914 arrival and 1922--Mr. Kidd in Gananoque, Leeds, Ontario and Mr. Allan Hunter in Brewers Mills, Frontenac, Ontario. In 1927 Robert emigrated to New York. He was married at least twice and had several children. One border crossing record indicates he had a brother named Edward in Blackmore Essex, England. He did have a brother Edward James Odiam born 1906 to Ernest and Clara Odiam. He also had a brother William Charles born 1907. His father Ernest Charles Odiam died in 1922 and his mother Clara Jane Tharne Odiam in 1945.
Some records spell the surname O' Diam.
