NotesA birth registration was found for Eugenio Louis Pappini: Year of Registration: 1878; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: Liverpool (1837-1934); County: Lancashire; Volume: 8b; Page: 120. (Parents: Eugenio Pappini and Mary McGlune, married March 5, 1877, at St. Nicholas Church in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.)

Possible name change may have been due to church intervention and a new baptism.

Peter's father Eugenio Pappini was married twice, first to Jane White on June 2, 1867. Eugenio and Jane had 3 children of which only the second son survived. Jane died February 3, 1877, of acute bronchitis, 9 days, embolism of blood vessels of the brain, 17 hours. Eugenio was present at the death. One month later, Eugenio then married Mary McGlune/McGloin. He had five by his second--Eugenio Louis (Peter Joseph), born 1878; Anna Louisa, born 1882, died 1883 of malnutrition (marasmus); Maria Katerina, born 1883; Eugenio Giovanni, born 1885, died 1885 of dibility convulsion brought on by malnutrition; and Giovanni Battista, born and died 1887, stillborn.

It is presumed that Eugenio was an immigrant. He seemed to move around a great deal. He was a Mariner until approx 1873, after which he became a boarding house keeper at 99 Upper Frederick St. Liverpool, England. He died of a brain aneurism in 1890. the death was certified by a S.J.B. Caldwell Surgeon , his 2nd wife was present at the death.

In 1894, P(eter Joseph) Pappini, 13 (along with his sister Maria Pappini, 11), arrived at Montreal, Quebec, Canada, along with a mixed group of 54 children from England, Scotland and Ireland mostly from West Derby, Middlesborough and Leek Workhouses, accompanied by Miss Yates.

On November 3, 1914, at Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, Montr?al, Quebec, Canada, a marriage was registered between Peter Joseph Pappini, of the parish, son of Eugene Pappini and the late Mary McGlown; and Anna Maria McKee, of the parish, daughter of Joseph James and Johanna McKee.
