Son of the late William Parrish and Alice-Ann Williams.He came to Seeleys Bay at 17 years of age and worked on the Gipson farm.Mr.Parrish then worked at Skinner's bumper company in Gananoque and was later transferred to Oshawa with the same company.He was married in Athens on Dec.7th,1928 to Sadie Victoria Arthurs who predeceased him on Dec.28,1976.In 1941 he joined the medical corps of the Canadian army and was sent overseas to England,also serving in Italy.He returned from the war and was a Staff Sgt at the military hospital in Kingston,being discharged in 1946.After his discharge he went to work at Philips Cables,working there until retiring in 1974.He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Norman Parrish Jr of Gananoque,Mrs.Gilbert Johnston(Barbara)Gordon Parrish of Athens and Mrs.Bernard Burns ( Patricia) of Athens. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews. A brother William Parrish of Birmingham,England survives.He was predeceased by six sisters: Kitty Parrish, Sissy Green,Peggy Parrish,Nellie McDonald, all of England. Mrs.Primrose Shaw of Kingston and Mrs.Betty Swan of Toronto. Friends were received at the Judson Funeral Home,Athens until Saturday,Feb.20 when the funeral service was held at2 pm. Spring interment will take place in Athens Cemetery.Pastor Orville White of the Bethel Pentecostal Church,Smiths Falls,officiated assisted by Pastor Robert Bourque. Two solos were sung by assistant pastor Randy Burt of Smiths Falls. The pallbearers were Norman Fitzpatrick,Bob Parrish,Stephen Parrish,Bernie Burns,Keith Allingham and Leo Oosterhof. There was a floral display and many in memoriams to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Gi???deons.
