NotesEthel, 16, came to Canada with her brother Alfred and sister, Hilda. She went to a family called Babe where she was treated roughly. After two years, she moved to the Guelph area and arranged for her sister and brother to be transferred to farms nearby. She married James Crane and had one son, Alfred who lives in Guelph. She died in 2000 at age 102. She was interviewed by Jean Little for her book, Orphan at my Door.
