NotesIn 1886, Maria Pauley, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 71 children from the Liverpool Catholic Children's Protection Society, accompanied by a Mrs. Lacy and en route to Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Maria Pauley, aged 11, from parish of Liverpool, placed with Maurice O'Gormon, Ennismore P.O., lot 6, 3 Con., Ennismore Tp. Giving satisfaction, not attending school, not likely to go to school, was in 3rd standard, bright child, pleased with her home."

On July 6, 1896, at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Maria Pauley, 20, born in Ireland to John Pauley and Mary McCabe; and James Joseph Sweeney, 19, laborer, born in Ontario, Canada, to James Sweeney and Margaret Kane.
