Notes [POSSIBLE MATCH] A birth registration was found for William John Pellett: Year of Registration: 1906; Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec; District: Farnham; County: Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex; Volume: 2a; Page: 151. Mother, Rhoda Pellett, unmarried, born 1884 in Godalming, Surrey, England.
In the period 1904 to 1908 she was known as Rhoda Roberts traveling around England with her partner George Roberts. She then settled in Kingston, Surrey, still using that name.
Rhoda Pellett married Joseph Dunn on October 2, 1911, in Badshot Lea, Farnham, Surrey, England. She appeared living in Upper Edmonton, Middlesex, England, about 1920 but it is unknown what surname she was using at the time. One of her daughters visited her there and had to call her partner "Uncle Bob" (a long way from Joseph). Rhoda's grandchildren were led to believe that she had died in 1920 but she was also known to have visited relatives in Surrey in the late 1920s. It is, however, believed that she died from cancer soon after these visits.
In 1921, John Pellett, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 74 MacPherson children en route to Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
Still alive in 2000, at the age of 93, John recounted to his children about the hard life he had on a farm in Ontario,Canada. He had a sister and a brother. He was able to reconnect with his sister 62 years after he arrived in Canada. He was unable, as of 2000, to find his brother.
