A death registration was found for George John Phripp: Year of Registration: 1901; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; Age at Death: 39; District: Andover; County: Hampshire, Wiltshire; Volume: 2c; Page: 143.
George's death left Selina with seven children to raise. Frank was admitted to the Barnardo organization and stayed at Leopold House in the east end of London and at Stepney Causeway Home.
He sailed to Canada on July 10, 1909 on the S.S. Sicilian arriving in Quebec on July 24, 1909 at the age of 18.
He was placed in Newmarket, Ontario. In 1916 he was working on the Metropolitan Railway as the station agent in Newmarket.
Frank saved money to send for his sister Ivy Louisa to join him in Canada in abt 1912 or 13.
On October 10 1916, Frank Phripp, 26, born Oxford, son of George and Selina Phripp nee Wyton, married another Barnardo child, Ada Sharpe, 24, born England, daughter of Daniel and Harriett, in Newmarket, York, Ontario, Canada.
On March 3 1921, Frank Phripp, 30, died at Weston Sanotarium, York, York, Ontario, he was a Station Agent, son of George, informant given as wife-Mrs Ada Phripp, 286 Dupont St, he was buried in Prospect Cemetery, the cause was given as Pthisis Pulmonalis.
Their son C.Frank Phripp wrote the book, The Phripp Family- As I Found It, from which this information is obtained.
